Introducing Miranda Boire (Vancouver Canada)

Fallen Heroes is so excited to annoucnce that on the 11th of May - 18th of May Fallen Heroes RED will be hosting Miranda Boire from  Liquid Amber Tattoo & Art collective, in Gastown, Vancouver.

Miranda specialises in black and grey realism and colour realism. She does beautiful florals but REALLY enjoys a some macabre subject matter.

Miranda Boire enjoys creating in several mediums, from complex embroidery to clay sculpture. She got her first job at a Glassblowing studio in Merrickville, Ontario, where she would quickly become a skilled glassblower. Later she would tour the United States fronting a metal band on Solid State records. She augmented her income with charcoal portraiture prior to graduating from Algonquin College’s Dental Hygienist program with honours. From there she moved west to Vancouver.

Here she began displaying her drawings in cafes, illustrating for local zine; This Great Society, screaming in hardcore bands, and eventually producing Murder Dove shows. Murder Dove being her downtempo, trip-hop project, with shows involving large scale sculpture, set design and elaborate costumes. In 2012 Miranda decided to embark on a new creative journey, and she purchased her first tattoo machine.

Blessed with the sanction of mentors renowned in the tattoo industry, and with excellent opportunities based on the strength and versatility of her arts portfolio, she has been living her dream. Shaping her life solely with her own hands and imagination, is something she will never take for granted.

In tattoos, she most enjoys creating the realistic and surreal, in greyscale and in colour. Juxtaposing feminine beauty with a macabre or creepy element is one of her most cherished pleasures. So gather those pretty but slightly twisted ideas, and together you will bring them to life.
