Joey has been tattooing since October 2018 following his apprenticeship. He has always been inspired by abstract watercolour artworks by artists such as Agnes Cecile.
He then studied art in highschool and his favourite part of the day would always be going to the art class, it was like a break away from reality.
Joey had no idea what he wanted to do after highschool and essentially ended up in the industry because of his mom. After getting a tattoo, she spoke to the artist (Leeroy Snyman) about her son’s artworks, and showed him pictures of them.
Leeroy asked if he could come to his studio the next day to meet, they chatted, he was offered an apprenticeship and he started the following Monday.
Joey’s favourite styles of tattooing include Neo-Traditional pieces (inspiration: Miryam Lumpini) and Black-Work (inspiration: Haley Ploos). Joey would like to explore some more realism work moving forward.
